Dr. John F. Chuchiak is a distinguished professor of history at Missouri State University, where he also directs the Honors College. His academic expertise centers on colonial Latin American history, particularly the Spanish Inquisition in New Spain (Mexico). His seminal book, The Inquisition in New Spain, 1536–1820, is widely regarded as a key resource for understanding the administrative and social impacts of the Inquisition in the Americas. In addition to his scholarly contributions, Dr. Chuchiak has engaged in innovative projects, such as the "Digital Auto-de-Fé," a 3D simulation of historical events from the Mexican Inquisition, designed to cultivate cultural competence and engage modern audiences in the humanities.
