Inclusive excellence in engineering

Dartmouth is one of just seven leading national research universities working to transform higher education and to double the number of industry-ready engineers from historically underrepresented backgrounds across a wide range of engineering fields.

This commitment is reflected in strong outcomes for women across Dartmouth’s engineering programs. Women comprise a substantial share of enrollment in Dartmouth’s engineering master’s degree programs, well above national averages. Dartmouth was also one of the first major national universities to reach gender parity in 2016, and as recently as 2023, more than half of its undergraduate engineering degrees were awarded to women.
