This module helps you learn how to communicate like a confident, self-assured leader. Our voices and our bodies are strong tools for effective communication and expression of confidence. These lessons unpack the voice as a controllable factor by engaging breath work. You will acquire the ability to connect to your body for greater presence by learning about body language. I will break down how breath and body can be activated for stress relief. You can achieve mental clarity through breath and physical exercises that can be done from a desk in the exercises to come. The mysticism of ‘charisma’ will be unpacked. Through understanding the role of the non-verbal scene partner, you are going to be exposed to methods for active listening that promote concise communication.

Leaders know how to take risks, when to leap, and how to create a team who can succeed during both. For this module, you’ll prepare for the moment of action by exploring principles of improvisational structure as they pertain to teamwork, navigating risks, and jumping into presentation. These lessons consider the dynamics of an ensemble as you draw parallels between an effective ensemble and a thriving team or department. Application of what you have learned from the previous lessons intend to help you navigate your way through an elevator pitch with real life applications and the opportunity to go even further and apply your knowledge to a personal presentation or a monologue of your choice. I will usher you through revisiting each step; working through preparation, rehearsing execution and, ultimately, leaping into the action itself. This is the time to deepen your ability by providing subjective critique for your own work.
